Switch is modular: Configurator modules connect to external systems, App Store apps deliver around 200 ready-made integrations, and Switch Scripting (JavaScript and Node.js) handles custom requirements. Through the App Store, MIS, web-to-print, imposition tools and many others integrate directly.

Where standard apps fall short, we develop custom Switch apps and scripts tailored to your individual requirements. One example is our WoodWing Assets bundle, officially listed in the Enfocus AppStore, which brings the WoodWing Assets REST API into Switch workflows through two apps (Send and Receive).

Enfocus PitStop: Server, Pro, Library Container

PitStop is the family of preflight and correction solutions for PDF print data, available in three variants:

PitStop Server automates job intake, PDF preflight, and correction. Among other intake points, it monitors FTP servers and network folders and routes PDFs intelligently through the preflight and correction process. Typical use cases: print shops for job intake with automatic preflight correction, publishers for PDF quality checks of exported print data, brand owners for color management and font control. PitStop Server integrates tightly with Switch and with callas pdfToolbox for demanding PDF workflows.

PitStop Pro is the desktop plugin for Adobe Acrobat. Manual preflight and correction, Action Lists for recurring tasks, shared profiles and Action Lists via Enfocus Cloud. For prepress operators, pre-production QA, and anyone who needs to inspect and correct PDFs interactively.

PitStop Library Container is the embedded variant for software vendors. An engine for integrating PitStop preflight logic into your own tools, with OEM licensing. Relevant for ISVs and platform providers who want to embed preflight as a component in their solution.

Enfocus Review

Review streamlines PDF proofing and enables accurate, reliable, and stress-free client approvals. The tool ensures PDFs are rendered precisely as intended at the client, accounting for color spaces, overprint settings, and more, so that every detail appears exactly as it will in print.

Review runs as a cloud service. Approval workflows handle complex review chains with multiple reviewers and escalation logic.

Enfocus Griffin and Phoenix: Imposition for Every Print Job

Imposition is the final layout step in print: how many up on a sheet, how to minimize material waste, how to optimally use printing plates. Enfocus has expanded its portfolio with two specialized solutions: Griffin for wide-format and labels, Phoenix for sheet-fed, packaging, and commercial print.

Enfocus Griffin is the wide-format nesting powerhouse. True-shape nesting for irregularly shaped objects, ideal for labels, stickers, banners, signage, and any print job on large-format sheets or rolls. Griffin minimizes material waste automatically and delivers time and material savings from the first run.

Enfocus Phoenix is the AI-powered imposition tool for commercial print, packaging, sheet-fed, and wide-format. Phoenix automates job planning, calculates the most cost-effective production approach including ganging, optimizes production schedules, and delivers detailed cost calculations. With Phoenix2Switch directly integrated into Switch workflows.

Both tools fit seamlessly into Switch pipelines and complement PitStop Server, PitStop Pro, and Review to form a closed end-to-end print workflow.

Enfocus Switch Integration

Switch is strong as an integration platform because it bridges very different worlds. Four typical integration classes:

• MIS and web-to-print systems via App Store apps or custom integration via Switch Scripting
• PDF processing with native integration of callas pdfToolbox (Configurator) and PitStop for demanding preflight and correction
• DAM systems like WoodWing Assets via our own WoodWing Assets Configurator in the Enfocus AppStore (two apps: Send and Receive) or via custom Switch Scripting
• API-driven systems via the Switch HTTP Request node, which speaks to any REST API, plus custom scripting for JSON processing

When weighing Switch against n8n: Switch is file-centric with hot-folder architecture, plus email intake, REST endpoints, and app-driven job triggering. Native PDF tools are built directly into Switch for basic PDF tasks. n8n is API-centric with code nodes. The two often complement each other in hybrid architectures.
